Grammy's Were a Hit

This past week on TV, CBS hosted the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards. The night was full of wild, fun entertainment from the opening performance from Lady Gaga with Elton John to finishing it up with the surprise Album of the Year Winner, Taylor Swift. Many people including Kanye West believed that Beyonce Knowels album I Am... Sasha Fierce was going to take it away after her hit single "Single Ladies" won S.O.Y. After his absolute poor decision to steal the mic from Taylor Swift, Kanye was not invited to the Grammy's.
The night was not only about the stars, but also one of remembrance and hope. Mary J. Blige and Andrea Bocelli gave a heart warming performance of "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" with all proceeds going to Haiti. Michael Jackson was also remembered at this years Grammy with receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award. which was accepted by his children.
Aside from the winners, the nights over big events where the numerous performance. Pink stole the show with her performance of "Glitter in the Air", which was absolutely stunning and breath taking. The heart pumping performance of the night went to two different performances from two different artists. The first being the Black Eyed Peas. Their collaboration of "Imma Be/I Gotta Feeling", had hearts pumping and people getting the feeling. The other performance the people loved was "If I Was a Boy" by Beyonce. In this performance she is just simply amazing. First thing first, she shows some love to MJ with a little bit a crotch grab at the very beginning of performance, to her unique different vocal styles during the performance. You can find the video's for purchase at http://www.iTunes.com/Target .
Now the Grammy's I know are not just about the performances , but the awards as well. The major awards where kicked of by the Record of the Year and that went to the Kings of Leon for "Use Somebody". Next was the Best New Artist, which was won by the Zach Brown Band. Following that up was the Song of the Year which as I already stated earlier went to Beyonce for "Single Ladies". To end the night with shocker the Album of the Year went to Taylor Swift for "Fearless".

  1. This year was the first year I have ever watched the grammys. I watched the grammys from begining to end! I absolutely loved it! Taylor did an amazing job in all of her performances and I think she deserved all the grammys she recieved!

  2. I though the Grammy’s were amazing. All the performers did a great job and looked fabulous at the same time. My favorite performance had to be Lady Gaga and Elton John’s duet. Both singers are slightly ‘out there’, but both have amazing musical talent. This was the first year I was actually excited to watch the Grammy’s, and I’m glad I did. It was a great show. I think it was right for Kanye to not be invited. What he did last year was uncalled for, and I don’t know if people will ever forgive him for his behavior.

  3. I still don't know why Kanye thinks that Beyonce's Album, song, or music video is so great that it should be awarded a prize over Tayler Swift. I don't even like country, and I feel that she has accomplished way more than Beyonce this year. I am also glad they recognized Michael Jackson, but now that they did it, I think the Media needs to drop him. His death was tragic, but not worth every station covering 24/7 for 5 months straight.

  4. I have always enjoyed watching music award cerimonies and this years Grammy's was no exception. I really am impressed when artists from totally different genres of music come together and perform a piece of music that is jaw dropping. One collaboration that I found to be genius was Elton John and Lady Gaga. They are seperately powerful and have evolved into amazing artists that are full of passion and fire, which is displayed in every performance. I will definately be anticipating next years Grammy performances.

  5. First off, Kanye is a total idiot and I dont think anybody missed him at the grammys. But otherwise I think the grammys were excellent! They had a great lineup of performers and everything went fantastic. Another reason I think Kanye is a retard is because I feel like the song "single ladies" was an absolutely HORRIBLE song. She repeats herself the whole time and even the video was stupid, not that it had anything to do with the song being awarded song of the year. But in the end, GREAT SHOW

  6. I can see why Taylor swift racked up so much hard wear, she was dropping hit after this year.I also think she was deserving because she showed that she could sing country and pop music also.
